Operative Records is a new UK based label focussing on artists who have been singularly pursuing their own musical agendas. Released a short time ago was 1, a sampler compilation showcasing the label's diverse roster. Acts ranged from the abrasive electronics of Anti Child League, Antivalium, the menacing electronics of Muffpunch, the experimental electronics of Andrew Liles. Naevus pursue a more dark-folk approach, Leisurehive opt for a twisted guitar sound. Percussionist John Murphy of Scorpion Wind / Der Blutharsch appears with the psychedelic polyrhythms of Knifeladder and the nightmare strains of Shining Vril.
